NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE'S NORWEGIAN STAR TO CALL AT KAHULUI THROUGH
MAY 3, 2002
Miami - February 13, 2002 - Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)
today announced Norwegian Star will call at Kahului, Maui
on Fridays through May 3, 2002 instead of Lahaina, Maui as
previously scheduled. NCL has tested the operational feasibility
of offering Kahului as an alternative to Lahaina when there
are port conflicts or inclement weather.
"Lack of sufficient shore side tender support in Lahaina
has prompted us to make this change on a temporary basis,"
said Colin Veitch, president and chief executive officer of
Norwegian Cruise Line. " We will test Lahaina again once
the promised shore side tender support is available later
in the spring. "
NCL has a full shore excursions program available. The proximity
of Kahului to many of Maui's most beautiful sights offers
guests additional elements to the existing shore excursions
program. Guests with pre-booked Lahaina shore excursions will
be able to enjoy these excursions as planned, and NCL will
have a free Kahului - Lahaina shuttle operating constantly
so guests will not miss out on visiting Lahaina independently
of the shore excursion program.
