NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE ADDS PARASAIL ADVENTURE TO
GREAT STIRRUP CAY DIVE-IN PROGRAM
MIAMI, June 28, 2002 - Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today
announced it has added a Parasail Adventure to its Dive-In
program offered on the company's private Bahamian Island,
Great Stirrup Cay.
Passengers can now sail above the pristine waters of the
Bahamas either solo or in tandem while being towed by a brand
new parasail boat on the beach of Great Stirrup Cay.
"Parasailing is a option many of our passengers have
asked for in the past and we're glad to be able to provide
it to them now on our private island," said Andy Stuart,
senior vice president of marketing and sales for Norwegian
Cruise Line. "We're working with Big Adventure Ltd, a
company that has a great reputation and a long history of
offering sailing adventures in the Bahamas, to provide our
passengers the highest level of service possible."
Guests can sign up for this new shore excursion option at
the Dive-In desk onboard the ship. Currently, the ships that
visit Great Stirrup Cay include the S/S Norway and Norwegian
Sea. Beginning in January, NCL's newest ship Norwegian Dawn
will sail to Great Stirrup Cay on its eastern-bound sailings,
and in May 2003, the ship calls at the Island when she begins
a groundbreaking series of seven-day sailings to the Bahamas
and Florida departing roundtrip from New York. Ports of call
on this innovative itinerary include Nassau, Great Stirrup
Cay, Miami and Port Canaveral, Florida, and guests have the
additional option of embarking either in New York or Port
Canaveral.
In addition to offering the Parasail Adventure at Great Stirrup
Cay, NCL's Dive-In program will also now rent snorkel equipment
to guests that do not wish to participate on a structured
snorkeling trip. The snorkel gear is offered on all of NCL's
ships at all ports of call where an organized snorkel trip
is scheduled.
