Company Holds Job Fair for U.S. Flagged Ships
Miami, July 3 – NCL America will hold
a job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 and
Thursday, July 10 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort to
search for Hawaii’s best candidates for the line’s
new year-round U.S. Flagged ships, Pride of America and Pride
of Aloha.
NCL America’s goal in the job fair is
to recruit qualified candidates for shipboard jobs, particularly
entry-level crew, management positions, cruise staff, food
and beverage operations, entertainers and medical staff positions.
“We are beginning as early as possible
to seek out the most qualified candidates from Hawaii to deliver
the best possible service to our guests,” said Robert
Kritzman, NCL America’s senior vice president overseeing
Human Resources. “The people of Hawaii are particularly
known for their superior service and warm hospitality. We
want to ensure our ships have ‘The Aloha Spirit’
on board.”
According to Kritzman, NCL America will train
new hires in dedicated training programs and on the line’s
other Freestyle Cruising ships within the fleet and learn
the product as well as the industry.
“After undergoing an intensive training
program they will be prepared for our U.S. Flagged ships,”
he said. “The company will also be holding job fairs
on neighbor islands in the near future.”
The vessels will be U.S.-flagged, and 100 percent
U.S. crewed, generating more than $800 million in economic
benefits for Hawaii and the U.S., and 20,000 jobs including
10,000 plus jobs for Hawaii residents of which some will be
3,000 U.S. seafaring jobs, according to a recent PriceWaterhouseCoopers
report.
