MIAMI
– July 7, 2006 – NCL Corporation (“NCL”)
today announced several new senior executive appointments
for the revenue management, fleet operations and finance
departments. Robert Thye joins NCL in the newly created
position of senior vice president, revenue management.
Thye will report to Andy Stuart, NCL’s executive
vice president of sales, marketing and passenger services.
Carlos Hernandez joins NCL as vice president and controller.
Hernandez takes over from NCL’s current controller,
Jay Levitt who is leaving the company after 29 years of
service. Hernandez will report to Bonnie Biumi, NCL’s
chief financial officer.
Jeff Frier joins as vice president of technical
operations. Frier will report to Chris Foong, senior vice
president of marine technical and new build operations.
Captain Niklas Peterstam has joined the shore side Miami
office as vice president of nautical operations. Peterstam
reports to Bill Hamlin, executive vice president of fleet
operations. In addition, Captain Svein Sleipnes previously
vice president of nautical operations has moved into the
position of vice president of port operations reporting
to Hamlin.
Welcoming his new senior colleagues, NCL’s President
and CEO Colin Veitch said: “I’m very pleased

management talent. Each of them has extensive experience
in his respective field and we are all looking forward

contributions.”
Bob Thye joins NCL from American Airlines,
where he has worked since 1991. His most recent role was
managing director revenue management and capacity planning
technology. Prior to his current role, Thye has held a
number of revenue management, customer service and technology
focused positions at the airline. He started his career
in 1986 at Andersen Consulting as a senior consultant,
where he led information systems development projects
for a variety of clients. In 1991, Thye received a Master's
of Business Administration in Marketing at the University
of California.
Carlos Hernandez joins NCL from PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP where he was most recently an assurance senior manager.
In that role, he was responsible for concurrently managing
numerous audit and special engagements for public and
private companies in the cruise, travel and consumer product
industries. Hernandez has a Master of Accounting from
Florida International University and is a Certified Public
Accountant.
Jeff Frier joins NCL from the Carnival Corporate
shipbuilding operation in Southampton, England where he
was principal manager of the naval architecture and outfitting
group. He had previously worked as a senior naval architect
on behalf of the Carnival Group since 2001. Prior to that,
Frier spent seven years with Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
in both the U.S. and in London. He holds a degree in Naval
Architecture and Shipbuilding from Newcastle University
in the U.K., and is a chartered engineer and a member
of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
Captain Niklas Peterstam joined NCL in September
2001 bringing out the new Norwegian Star and Norwegian
Dawn from the shipyard and has been at the helm of Norwegian
Dawn until joining the Miami shore side staff this month.
Prior to NCL, Peterstam served with Star Cruises in various
deck officer capacities, including Captain, since 1996.
He also worked for Sale’n Lindbland Cruising, an
expedition cruise company where he traveled to remote
areas of the world.
Captain Svein Sleipnes joined NCL in 1982
as a first officer and was later promoted to Captain,
with the distinction of being NCL’s youngest captain.
Sleipnes left NCL in 1994 and was director of nautical
operations at Royal Caribbean until re-joining the company
in June of 2000 as vice president of nautical operations.
