NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE AND NEW YORK GIANTS
EXTEND PARTNERSHIP FOR A SECOND YEAR
NCL
again designated as “Preferred Cruise Line”
Miami,
October 23, 2003 – Today, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)
kicks off its second partnership year with the New York Giants
again becoming the team’s “Preferred Cruise Line.”
In addition, the company will host its second annual Game
Day promotion and award one lucky fan a 7-day cruise vacation
at halftime of the Giants’ Nov. 9, 2003 contest with
the Atlanta Falcons. The cruise award is just one of several
giveaways planned for the game day promotion at Giants Stadium
in East Rutherford, N.J.
NCL will also host pre- and post-game celebrations in the
stadium’s Touchdown Club for area travel agents, and
offer fans a number of promotional gifts from kiosks set up
around the stadium.
NCL’s
sponsorship of the New York Giants continues the company’s
commitment to the New York community, in which its 2,224-passenger
Norwegian Dawn calls home.
“As
the only cruise ship to be in New York every week of the year,
we want to be good neighbors and one way we can do that is
by showing our support for one of New York’s greatest
sporting institutions, the New York Giants,” said Andy
Stuart, NCL’s executive vice president of marketing,
sales and passenger services. “This support for the
Giants compliments our sponsorships with other New York institutions
such as the New York Philharmonic and the New York Aquarium.”
Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line is an industry innovator.
NCL recently announced NCL America, under which its US flagged
ships will operate. The company is building the US Flagged
ship Pride of America, which begins Hawaii cruises on July
4, 2004. NCL is also the leader in roundtrip cruising from
U.S. and Canadian ports, offering its Homeland Cruising program
seasonally from Baltimore, Boston, Charleston, Los Angeles,
Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, San Juan, Seattle and Vancouver,
and year round from New York, Houston and Honolulu.
