Norwegian Cruise Line Offers Onboard Delivery of Top Daily Newspapers

Guests aboard all NCL ships will enjoy same-day access to leading world newspapers

Miami - (November 4, 2002) - Beginning immediately, guests aboard four of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) ships - Norwegian Star, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Wind and the Norway - will enjoy same-day access to several leading daily newspapers, including the International Herald Tribune, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Through a recent agreement with NewspaperDirect, a news delivery service, and satellite provider Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN), NCL is offering its guests full editions of their favorite national and international daily newspapers. NCL plans to extend this service throughout the fleet by the end of the year.

NCL's NewpaperDirect service provides guests with complete, same-day versions of up to 150 of their favorite international newspapers (with some small sections removed at the publishers' discretion) in an 11-inch by 17-inch format that's approximately 70% of a normal newspaper's size. Each ship's newspaper list is tailored to the vessel's passenger base. Most ships will carry a broad selection of international and North American publications including the L.A. Times, USA Today, and the Miami Herald, the International Herald Tribune, Le Monde (France), National Post (Canada) and The Times (UK). The cost is $3.95 per paper with free delivery to the passenger's stateroom. Guests can special-order other newspapers, including Die Zeit (Germany) and Neue Zuercherzeitung (Switzerland) for an additional charge. NCL is the first cruise line to offer this service to passengers.

"Freestyle Cruising offers our passengers the same flexibility found at upscale land resorts, including convenient, same-day delivery of newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and USA Today," said Colin Veitch, NCL's president and chief executive officer. "We're proud to partner with NewspaperDirect and MTN to offer this service to our guests."

"NCL's endorsement of the ND Service across their fleet highlights its growing acceptance," said Miljenko Horvat, president and CEO of NewspaperDirect. "This signals our service becoming a must-have amenity in the hospitality industry, much like CNN is today."
