Norwegian Cruise Line Voted "Best Cruise
Line" by Readers of Strictly Slots and Casino Player
Magazines
Acclaimed Publications Cite NCL's Gaming
Innovations and Onboard Options
MIAMI, November 8, 2002 -- Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has
hit the jackpot with the readers of Strictly Slots and Casino
Player magazines. The readers of each magazine have awarded
their highest honors to NCL's casino operations. Strictly
Slots readers named NCL "Best Cruise Line" in the
magazine's October 2002 "Best of Slots" issue, while
the readers of Casino Player voted NCL "Best Cruise Line"
in its sixth annual "Best of Gaming" survey, which
hit newsstands earlier this summer.
Strictly Slots, which focuses on slot-machine gaming, queried
its 110,000 monthly readers, asking them to rate cruise-ship
casinos based on service, value, quality and sophistication,
with particular focus on slots. NCL ranked first among all
major cruise lines.
Casino Player's 200,000 monthly readers responded to a similar
nationwide survey asking them to name their favorite cruise-line
casino operation based on the same criteria. For the second
straight year, Casino Player readers voted NCL first among
all other cruise operators.
Readers of both publications cited NCL's many seagoing gaming
innovations, which set its casinos apart from those aboard
other ships. NCL's casinos offer the highest table limits
at sea, plus personalized betting limits, double odds in craps
and specialty games including Three-Card Poker, Wheel of Madness
and Oasis Poker. Free gaming lessons, as well as slots and
blackjack and slots tournaments with cash and prizes for the
winners, are standard services in NCL casinos.
The magazines also cited NCL's Freestyle Cruising program,
which allows guests to dine when and where they want, and
with whom they want. As Casino Player editors point out, "This
isn't only convenient, it's practically a necessity for gamblers,
who won't leave a hot table just because some guy with a bell
announced dinner."
"We're honored to receive this award from the readers
of Strictly Slots and Casino Player said Colin Veitch, NCL's
president and chief executive officer. "This outstanding
recognition from the readers of these respected publications
underscores NCL's commitment to providing the most enjoyable
onboard experience possible and confirms Freestyle Cruising's
broad appeal."
