Miami, Fla., January 21, 1999 - For those who remember the
50's as cool and thought the 60's were sensational, Norwegian
Cruise Line's star-studded 50's & 60's Cruise aboard the
Norwegian Sea's exciting "Texaribbean" sailing from
Houston, is the place to be! For seven days, guests of all
ages will be entertained by some of the best known performers
of the era such as Lesley Gore, The Marvelettes, The Platters,
and Shirley Alston Reeves, the original lead singer of The
Shirelles. Photo and autograph sessions are scheduled for
the cruise, as well as interviews with Question & Answer
sessions.
Lesley Gore - There will be a festive mood
throughout the ship when Lesley Gore performs "It's My
Party," the hit which skyrocketed her to fame at the
age of 16 in 1963. She may also perform favorites including
"Judy's Turn to Cry," "She's a Fool,"
or "That's Where the Boys Are." A longtime chart-topper,
Lesley Gore has over two dozen hits to her credit.
The Marvelettes - Guests will remember
the Motown era as The Marvelettes play "Please Mr. Postman,"
"Playboy," "Beechwood 4-5789," and "Don't
Mess With Bill," just to name a few of their hit tunes.
Many of The Marvelettes' songs soared up the music charts
into the top ten.
The Platters - These Rock & Roll Hall
of Famers will entertain guests with hits like "Only
You," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "The
Magic Touch," "Twilight Time," and "The
Great Pretender." The Platters sold more than 80 million

for The Shirelles, Shirley Alston Reeves performed songs including
"Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?," "Mama Said,"
