Norwegian Cruise Line Announces Global 2000 Itineraries
Offers Array of Adventures for Guests
Sailing into New Millennium
Miami, Fla., March 11, 1999 Norwegian Cruise Line
today announced its fleet deployment for the year 2000, offering
375 cruises to more than 200 ports of call in over 50 countries.
As the NCL fleet cruises to destinations around the world
in the year 2000, distinctive offerings include the launch
of regular weekly Alaska service from NCLs new home
port of Seattle and a maiden call at Rio de Janeiro.
"Norwegian Cruise Line will be entering the millennium
with a brand new ship, Norwegian Sky, as well as global itineraries
that reflect the diversity of our cruise offerings, and respond
to the requests of our guests and travel industry partners,"
stated Art Sbarsky, executive vice president of NCL. "In
establishing our 2000 itineraries, we are providing travel
agents with a solid inventory of cruises as well as advance
information that will enable them to make recommendations
to their clients for NCL voyages through March 2001."
The following are the ship-by-ship itineraries for
NCLs fleet through March 31, 2001:
M/S Norwegian Sky The newest addition to the
NCL fleet, the 2,002-guest Norwegian Sky starts the new millennium
with alternating seven-day Eastern/Western Caribbean sailings.
Norwegian Skys Eastern Caribbean itinerary will sail
round-trip from Miami to Eleuthera, Bahamas; San Juan, Puerto
Rico; St. Thomas, and Great Stirrup Cay, NCLs private
island in The Bahamas. The Western Caribbean cruises will
also sail round-trip from Miami and will include visits to
Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas;
and Great Stirrup Cay.
New for 2000 will be Alaska cruises sailing round-trip from
Norwegian Skys summer home port of Seattle. In yet another
industry innovation, Norwegian Sky will be the first and only
major cruise ship to use Seattle as its home port.
Prior to its maiden Alaska voyage, the brand-new Norwegian
Sky will be introduced to the travel trade along the West
Coast from April 30 to May 7, 2000, with inaugural activities
slated for Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. May 7
kicks off Norwegian Skys Alaska season with seven-day
cruises to Glacier Bay (or Sawyer Glacier), Haines, Skagway,
Juneau, and Vancouver, ending on September 24. Norwegian Sky
will then sail a six-day Pacific Coastal cruise and a 15-day
Panama Canal cruise before arriving back in Miami to resume
alternating Eastern/Western Caribbean sailings throughout
the winter.
M/S Norwegian Dream The Norwegian
Dream will cover many parts of the globe in 2000, sailing
in the Southern Caribbean, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean.
From January 2 through April 2, 2000, the Norwegian Dream
will sail alternating Southern Caribbean itineraries departing
every Sunday from San Juan. The Norwegian Dreams Southern
Caribbean/Aruba cruises offer guests the opportunity to overnight
in the colorful port of Oranjestad, Aruba, while also stopping
at Willemstad, Curacao; Tortola; and St. Thomas. The ships
Exotic Southern Caribbean itinerary will sail deep into the
Caribbean stopping at Castries, St. Lucia; St. Johns;
Antigua; St. Kitts/Nevis; St. Croix; and St. Thomas.
Following a five-day repositioning cruise from San Juan to
Miami, the Norwegian Dream will sail a 15-day Transatlantic
voyage positioning the ship for its European season. The Norwegian
Dream will sail a series of nine 12-day "Scandinavian
Capitals" cruises, round-trip from London from May 13
through September 1, 2000. At the conclusion of the Scandinavian
itineraries, the Norwegian Dream will offer a fall series
of Mediterranean cruises until late November, before repositioning
back to San Juan to resume its Southern Caribbean itineraries.
M/S Norwegian Crown The Norwegian
Crowns exotic South America itineraries will include
a maiden call at the exciting port of Rio de Janeiro. From
January 2 through March 26, 2000, the Norwegian Crown will
sail 14-day voyages between Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago
(Valparaiso), Chile, cruising through the Chilean Fjords and
the Strait of Magellan.
The Norwegian Crowns 18-day Brazilian Coastal cruise
on March 26, 2000, will sail from Buenos Aires, Argentina,
to San Juan, Puerto Rico and includes an overnight call at
Rio de Janiero and scenic cruising of Ipanema and Copacabana
beaches.
From April 22 through October 21, 2000, the Norwegian Crown
will resume its popular seven-day New York to Bermuda cruises.
Completing the year 2000 in style, the Norwegian Crown will
return to South America, beginning with a 15-day "Southern
Discovery" cruise from Miami to Santiago, Chile on November
11, 2000, including a daylight transit of the Panama Canal.
M/S Norwegian Wind For the first
four months of the new year -- January 8 to April 8, 2000
-- Norwegian Winds seven-day Western Caribbean cruises
will sail round-trip from Miami and visit Grand Cayman, Cozumel,
Cancun, and Key West. On April 15, the Norwegian Wind will
sail a 17-day Panama Canal cruise, followed by a six-day Pacific
Coastal itinerary.
From May 8 to September 11, the Norwegian Wind will offer
seven-day Alaska cruises from Vancouver. The Norwegian Wind
will sail a special 11-day Hawaiian Islands cruise sailing
from Vancouver on September 18 and visiting five Hawaiian
Islands, including a nighttime sailing past the Kilauea volcano.
The Norwegian Wind will also offer three 10-day Hawaiian cruises
round-trip from Honolulu, including a call to Fanning Island
in the Republic of Kiribati. Seven-day Western Caribbean sailings
will resume on November 25, 2000.
M/S Norwegian Majesty Beginning
January 7, 2000, the recently-lengthened Norwegian Majesty
will offer three- and four-day cruises round-trip from Miami.
The three-day cruises (with the exception of January 28 and
April 7) will sail to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay in The
Bahamas, while the four-day sailings will visit Key West,
Florida and Cozumel, Mexico. The Norwegian Majesty will kick-off
its Bermuda season on April 23, 2000, with weekly cruises
from Boston to St. Georges through October 15, 2000.
Norwegian Majesty will sail a unique 15-day Bermuda/Caribbean
itinerary on October 22, 2000, before resuming the three-
and four-day sailings from Miami for the winter.
M/S Norwegian Sea - The Norwegian Sea will
continue NCLs popular year-round, seven-day "Texaribbean"
itinerary. Sailing round-trip from Houston every Sunday, the
Norwegian Sea will visit Cancún and Cozumel, Mexico; and Roatan,
Honduras. NCL combines unique Mexican and Texan traditions,
offering guests tequila tastings, country western dance classes,
Mayan enrichment classes, and a Mexican deck fiesta.
S/S Norway Following strong demand
to extend its Caribbean service, the legendary S/S Norway
will cruise an Eastern Caribbean itinerary year-round from
January 8, 2000, through March 31, 2001. Sailing round-trip
from Miami, the Norway will offer seven-day voyages that include
St. Maarten, St. John, St. Thomas, and Great Stirrup Cay,
NCLs private island in The Bahamas. The Norway will
sail a special Western Caribbean itinerary on October 21,
2000, to Cozumel, Mexico; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and Great Stirrup
Cay. The Norway will kick-off the year 2000 with a special
three-day voyage to Port Lucaya and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas,
on January 5, before starting its schedule of seven-day cruises
on January 8.
M/S Norwegian Star - This classic vessel
will continue sailing year-round under the banner of Norwegian
Capricorn Line, NCLs joint venture partnership in Australia,
with unique itineraries throughout the South Pacific including
Australia and New Zealand.

All itineraries through the first quarter of 2000 are now
available for booking and the remainder will be available
