Miami Fla., March 25, 1999 -- Norwegian Cruise
Line combines the enjoyment of fine wines with the romance
of Europes great civilizations aboard the S/S Norways
upcoming 14-day "Wine and Romance" cruise. Departing
from Barcelona, Spain, on June 6, 1999, guests are offered
the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of wine through
the expert guidance of onboard guest lecturers and wine aficionados
Joseph Ward, wine editor of Condé Nast Traveler; Jilly Goolden,
host of BBC Televisions "Food and Drink;"
and Malcolm Gluck, wine correspondent for The Guardian.
During the Norways "Wine and Romance"
cruise, guests may also glimpse the age-old art of European
wine-making during shore excursions to well-known vineyards
in several of the great wine-producing regions of France,
Italy, Portugal, and Spain. The unique history of the elegant
Norway adds to the richness and enjoyment of the cruise.
Special for the "Wine and Romance"
cruise, Condé Nast Traveler lends their acclaimed wine editor,
Joseph Ward, to conduct three onboard wine tastings and seminars
focusing on Cabernet Sauvignons from around the world, most
available on ships in the NCL fleet. Ward is an industry expert
whose articles have appeared in numerous publications on both
sides of the Atlantic, including The Washington Post, The
International Herald Tribune, and Smart Money. Ward dedicates
four months each year to visiting wine regions, and talking
and tasting with prominent vintners.
The "Wine and Romance" cruise aboard
the Norway features guest lecturers from the British Broadcasting
Company (BBC), including Jilly Goolden, who hosts the television
networks "Food and Drink" program. Goolden,
who has published books on wine and has contributed articles
to Londons leading daily newspapers including The Sunday
Times, The Daily Telegraph and Mail on Sunday, will conduct
several seminars and tastings while on board.
Rounding out the lineup of experts will be Malcolm
Gluck, wine correspondent for The Guardian, one of Londons
top daily newspapers, and consulting wine editor for Sainsburys,
a leading British consumer magazine. Gluck writes three annual
wine guides including the best-selling Superplonk, and has
hosted his own television show.

the Norway departs Barcelona on June 6, 1999, and calls at
Florence/Pisa, Italy; Palma de Majorca, Spain; Malaga, Spain;
