NCL Cancels October 28 Cruise of M/S Norwegian
Sky
MIAMI, Fla., Oct. 22, 1999 Norwegian
Cruise Line announced today that Norwegian Skys 15-day
repositioning cruise from Boston to Miami on October 28 has
been canceled.
The vessel has been in dry dock at the Davie
Industries Shipyard in Quebec to repair damage sustained on
September 24 when the ship was grounded for a four-hour period
at the juncture of the St. Lawrence and Saguenay Rivers. The
shipyard has determined that additional time is needed to
complete the work in progress.
"We sincerely regret any inconvenience
this unforeseen delay may cause our valued guests and travel
agent partners," said Art Sbarsky, Executive Vice President
of NCL.
Guests on the canceled cruise of October 28
will receive a full refund plus a certificate for 25 percent
off a future NCL sailing. The cruise credit certificate will
apply to cruise-only bookings made at Leadership fares, for
sailings before October 31, 2000, including Millennium cruises.
Guests who re-book on any cruise of seven days or more in
1999, with the exception of the Norwegian Skys Millennium
voyage, will also receive a $100 per stateroom on-board spending
credit. Travel agent commissions are fully protected.
The Norwegian Sky will arrive in Miami as scheduled
on November 12. Following two days of inaugural activities,
the ship will depart on her first seven-day Caribbean cruise
on Sunday, November 14.
Travel agents or guests with questions concerning
the Norwegian Sky may call 1-800-327-7030.
