April 30, 2000 Cruise to Sail from Los Angeles to Vancouver

MIAMI, Fla., December 2, 1999 – Norwegian Cruise Line today announced the addition of a six-day West Coast sailing from Los Angeles to Vancouver aboard its brand new vessel, the 2,002-guest Norwegian Sky. The April 30, 2000 cruise will also visit San Diego and San Francisco.

"We are delighted to offer this six-day West Coast cruise aboard the Norwegian Sky," said Art Sbarsky, NCL’s executive vice president. "The ship has been very well-received and this itinerary is an excellent way for our guests to explore the very best of the West Coast aboard this beautiful new vessel."

Following the six-day sailing and a one-night introductory "cruise to nowhere" for the travel trade, the Norwegian Sky will begin her inaugural Alaska season on May 7, offering round-trip Alaska cruises sailing from the vessel’s summer homeport of Seattle.

The Norwegian Sky’s interiors feature the world’s first Internet Café at sea, a towering eight-deck-high, glass-domed atrium, two pools, five whirlpools, a separate children’s splash pool with waterfall and a two-story main show lounge with proscenium stage. Other amenities include Checkers Cabaret lounge equipped with the longest cabaret bar at sea, several intimate gathering spots including Gatsby’s Wine Bar, The Atrium Bar, Sports Bar, Windjammer Bar and Churchill’s Cigar Club, Monte Carlo Casino and shopping arcade. Public areas also include a children’s playroom and separate teen center, part of the line’s complimentary "Kid’s Crew" children’s program, video arcade, full service spa, 24-hour exercise gym with separate aerobics area, conference room, library, card room, and beauty salon.

Dining options include three main dining rooms, four casual eateries including Ciao Chow, a casual eatery offering everything from fresh pasta to potstickers, Le Bistro, Garden Café and the Great Outdoor Café, as well as a complimentary 24-hour room service menu.

Cruise-only fares for the six-day sailing from Los Angeles to Vancouver start at $599 per person, based on double occupancy, including port charges. Air add-ons are available from most major North American gateways.
